Drop that shoulder! KoovsXJugni

Continuing on the ongoing cold shoulder craze, here is a simple look you have to try the next time you are stepping out!

Jugni tip: not a good idea to go dancing in an off shoulder top, as the elastic slides up each time your arms move to do your moves! *NotGoodBro*

Besides that tiny winy little glitch, here is our first ever tie up with Koovs! *yayy* Also, I seriously believe only super stylish people wear Koovs, I find their stuff super cool you must check it out if you haven’t already! This summer also is about investing in white denims! The summery-spring-y-floral tops and hyper colours are best when paired with a classic white pair!

I got my hands on the most epic fit from Zara. Although, I do think that lighter coloured bottoms do make my thighs appear broader, the length of the tops you wear the changes the game completely. So choose smart. My sling bag holds just the essentials and went effortlessly with the look, also the reflectors from Anjuna, Goa added swag!

An absolute must try are the jump in shoes, which are comfy enough to keep you running in all day at the mall or amidst your errands. I love the little bling which I teamed with my cute-sy two finger ring.

Did you see? Do you like? Won’t you try?

The not so routine- everyday look you must try! #WrapThat

I’m pretty confident that all you girlies have a printed wrap around skirt in that wardrobe. Either you received it as a gift, or bought it at a fair or just ordered one cause you felt that you could rock this look.

Well, if you have been struggling what to team it with just like I was, I decided to go dead-basic. T-shits just about fit into any look, you can layer the look with a long cape, you could even wear the skirt with a nice plain kurta. The options are endless, here is one such option that you can easily carry to your next work day or college too.

Wrap around skirts tend to suit most body types, they are easy to wear and really comfortable if you have to run errands all day. Adding desi accessories and kolhapuri chappals added an interesting blend to the look for the day. Go ahead and #WrapThat

Als, i wore the same skirt with a plain white tee while on a vacation with family, find a bonus picture with my Mumma ji below.

Tell me how you like such basic looks, should we do more?

Tee-Series: Styling a round neck t-shirt, again.

Taking cue from our last post in the same series that you can read here; I am still obsessing over the 3 uber cool doodled t-shirts that I got designed by The Filmy owl (Angel Bedi) from PosterGully.com

I was absolutely overwhelmed when so many of you sent me photos wearing the same t-shirts! Yay, blogger feel. Keeping the core thought the same, we cannot do with them can’t do without. Round neck basic t-shirts or chest print t-shirts are not just to work out or sleep in, they need to be worn out. You need to surprise yourself at how stylish you can make this wardrobe staple look. Watch and learn 😛

It’s not difficult to understand when you add crisp white denims and heeled footwear you are definitely going strong on your style game. I have worn the same t-shirt with shorts as well as harem pants and I swear the whole look becomes unique with different shoes and pants. Also, makeup and accessories. The bag, shoes, red lips, earrings all add up to this look and makes it wearable to a dinner or evening wear.

No style is fully complete without stunning glares and your signature pose. What are you waiting for, re-use those favourite t-shirts and send us some more tips to do the same! Stay Jugni.

#MaaKaWardrobe Here’s what you can do with that gorgeous silk saree.

When it comes to classic pieces, I find all my answers in Mumma’s wardrobe. From the most epic dupattas to authentic embroidery and fabrics that stay forever there is everything!

I have been eyeing Maa’s saree collection for the longest time, and when I finally got my hands on this one I knew I wanted to create magic with it. So, out of the many things you can do with your mom’s silk saree you can also convert it into a beautiful pleated skirt/lehenga. Just like you’ll see in the pictures below. This classic digital print, pure silk, gold and sea green piece is my Nani Maa’s treasure passed on to my mother and is now mine. By adding a pop of blue in a beautiful raw silk, I tried to put in a little life onto the colour which made me look a little pale when draped as a saree.

The saree has so much legacy attached to it, I almost feel like I’m wearing years of family style with each step in my new skirt. Crop top and skirt trend looks like it’s here to stay, hence it just fits well with fashion today created by a piece from the 60’s. What do you think of it? Do you have an old treasure from #MaaKaWardrobe that you would like to revamp? Write into us and let’s brainstorm together!

My designer suggested that we added removable layers of can-can in the skirt which made me feel like a total royalty, also, I can remove it and style it down as and when required! So cool! Designed by Ginni’s Studio.

Styled these with an outfit so pink that you’ll be the source of sunshine in any party if you wear this. Ideal for a wedding party or even your own event, I got a custom made pink tie & dye/ lehriya fabric stitched into a breathtakingly beautiful floor length dress. Adding a string of diamonds to the highlight the one-shoulder cut is my favourite thing about the outfit. So next time you go fabric shopping, pick an Indian print and convert it into something like this. Ideal fusion and so pretty. What say?

I couldn’t take off the sunglasses as they add such an interesting Tanu-effect to the look. Very #swaggy don’t you think? Also, in day functions the pictures look way more awesome with cheap reflector aviators. Try kariye!Ishanya_Mall 086

Switching the look around, with a change in the jewellery again by Beads & Threads. The emerald green added a much-needed relief from the burst of pink in the outfit. The two fingers one ring concept is super trending currently and these crude stones worked brilliantly too! Flower Power.

Did you know, ‘flower power’ was a term coined as a means to transform war protests into peaceful affirmative spectacles. Hippies embraced the symbolism by dressing in clothing with embroidered flowers and vibrant colors, wearing flowers in their hair, and distributing flowers to the public, becoming known as flower children.

Overall exuberates a lot of power with a strong non-violent ideology. The trend became huge in the late 1960s and the 70’s fashion wave is all about florals! The best part about such clutter breaking trends is the way they make their way back into our lives. 2015 has been seeing a lot of the 70’s vibe. From our very own baba sporting the floral trend to all over the runways, though trends like these take time to trickle down to the aam janta like you and me, it’s here and it looks like it is here to stay.

The floral trend helps in adding a little elegant spunk to any attire, (indian as well as western outfits) be it the little flower tiara or fresh flower bracelets that we see on mehndi functions at weddings. Florals are not just for spring, they are an all time hit now! Short printed dresses look adorable on any day, and then there is the maxi floral which I just cannot seem to get enough of!

Take dresses like these to the next level, with sharp makeup, sky high heels and an attitude that will make everyone stop and take notice when you walk in looking like a million bucks!

Also, don’t forget that the flower power still symbolises so much history that you must feel like you are embodying a movement, a rebellion of sorts. For freedom, beauty and your own right to kill with cuteness! Go, be a gulaabo. #shaandaar #idea
