The top 3 Desi Looks you need to add to your wardrobe, If you haven’t already.

You can do denims, skirts and dresses but nothing slays like an authentic Indian/ traditional look. Whether you’re the only one going design in college or adapting these into a routine family gathering, these are the 3 must have looks you need to try asap!

Kurta- Pallazzos

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I am obsessed with palazzo pants, they make me look taller and give me a feeling of being the most elegantly dressed when in a crowd! The trend started early 2015 and looks like it’s here to stay. Mix and match with interesting prints and colours to create different looks. They are so comfortable and effortlessly stylishly you might consider ditching all other forms of bottoms completely!

Patiala Salwar:

Nothing says casual desi like patiala suits, they define easy, functional style to me. Especially after Tanu weds Manu, I see myself turning to a patiala suit more often than not these days.

Jugni Tip: You need to find the right tailor to give you a real patiala salwar, it’s not as easy as it looks to have those perfect pleats in a hot fit, you might have to struggle with a few trials. But I suggest don’t settle till you feel full punjabi kuddie. Also, preferably get one from the north! I got this beautiful fabric from Ahmedabad for as less as INR 90 per metre and the short fitted kurta made me feel like Alia Bhatt from Humpty Sharma! If you don’t have this set in your wardrobe you are certainly missing out on a classic.

Rani Mukherjee inspired deep brown eye shadow and OD on surma. On my lips is the Ultimate Pro by Faces.

Kurti- Leggings

This is a cheat salwar kameez, or a chudidar kurta’s modernised version. It’s available everywhere you go and is so easy to carry. All the big brands have made multiple styles of kurtas ready to buy for us. From the A-lines, to the straight fits, the asymmetrical to a simple slit one like this they can all add interesting elements in your wardrobe. The gungroo on this kurta made me buy it without a second thought, also, the chudidar sleeves are so pretty nai?

Jugni Tip: Since leggings are skin tight, the length of the kurta should be below knee length or it can look weird, also colours like beige or skin tone for a legging will make it look like you aren’t wearing any, so be careful!

#SistersBeforeMisters : The contest your girl gang has been waiting for!

Things that we claim will always remain with us, are most of the time, the first things that crumble and fade away. Whereas people who we think less about are around us, rooting for us, no matter what. Through breakups and makeups, lies and interventions, rainbows and storms, my girls never went away. Without written promises, without paperwork or ceremonies or changing my last name. My girls are my sisters, my soulmates and they stay the same even if we had to meet only once in years. Summer Blues.

The heat is killing this time around. If Pune has gotten so bad, can’t imagine how Delhi and Bombay are doing. If you are cooped up at home or stuck in office waiting for the sun-time to pass, this post is for you! If you are too shy to step out or too careful about your skin, this post is for you. You can’t keep sitting in till sunset. Doesn’t that make you feel like an owl? You need to not let anything bring down that spark. So put on some lipstick and let’s hustle.

There are days when you only want to stay in bed, but I say we should save those days for monsoons or when your lover is in the mood for some mush time! 😛 Till then, pass the peak heat hour in a mall or a movie if that’s what it takes, but get out! Ideally it is the perfect season to be out and about. Plan a vacation, go swimming, stay outdoors and soak it all in.

My stint with freelance projects and full-time blogging is fairly new, and that kind of forces me to stay in pyjamas all day! Jugni is so not ok with that, need to get up-dress up-show up. With meetings happening off and on I needed to put together an easy look which can be considered formal enough for a client meeting and chic enough for just about anything else after that.

Summer, of a kind that bans me from exiting an air conditioned zone, is giving me the blues. A mood which makes me feel like i’m on a downward spiral. I had to pull myself out of this, and what better way than getting dolled up and shooting?! So here’s a pool blue bright top, with hot pink lips, well fitted denims and a dressy pair of shoes that makes me feel ready for any occasion any location. Kill the sun’s harmful rays with a full sleeve top, keep the fabric light and breezy, wear a cotton singlet inside, read more about which sunscreen you need to have HERE.

This post is a part of our first brand collaboration. Do come back to read more about them right here at Jugni & Co.

Sometimes simply smiling can take away your blues, how about trying that a little more today? Being with a “Daddy’s Girl”

Since dad’s are the coolest we think daddy’s girls are not so bad either! Here’s to the men letting them know things to keep in mind while dating a papa ki pari !

Yes, her Dad treats her like a princess. Deal with it.That does not mean that he did not teach her how to be a responsible adult, so never assume otherwise! She’ll talk about her dad a lot. To the point where it might annoy you. Be patient with her, she just thinks her dad is one of the coolest people alive.

Her dad is always going to be the most important male figures in her life. And at times, she will compare how he handles things to how you handle them. Work on yourself when you can, other times tell her how you are a different person. Her standards are high. For how you treat her but also for how she treats you. The thing about having a positive male role model is that you learn how to handle the male sentiment and their expectations as well.

Her dad’s opinion of you is going to matter, no matter how old she is. And no matter how independent a woman she might be, her dad is one of the few people who still gives her the liberty to keep her childish enthusiasm alive. There’s only one secret to getting along with her dad: Treating his daughter with the utmost love and respect.

Just because she’s a daddy’s girl, it does not mean that she is spoiled. It however might mean that she’s used to getting her way a lot. Sometimes just let her have her way. Pamper her silly. But the key to gaining not just her affections but her respect is that you’re willing to say no to her once in a while. And her dad will probably appreciate this in you as a guy, because he raised her to be prepared for a life with not many “yes” men!

She will not go running to her dad every time something bad happens like you might expect her to. Firstly, because her dad would expect her to handle it. Secondly, because if she really likes you, she wouldn’t want to spoil the chances of that. Don’t ever use her father against her or bring him up in a negative light. She is the only one ever allowed to criticize him. (if ever) End of story.

Her dad has been her rock solid wall long before she even met you. You are not expected to replace him. But she is expecting that you’ll be protective in the only way she’s ever known. Most importantly, the only way she’s ever going to introduce you to her father is if she thinks the relationship is going somewhere seriously. Don’t expect her to rush it. It’s a really big deal and it’ll probably take longer than what you’re used to. Know that nothing in the world will make her happier than being with a man who her father can treat like a son. Always make an effort.

No matter how you see her, there’s a part of her that will always be daddy’s little girl. Don’t ever try to take that away from her.

Now check my tiara, and join me in praise of my daddy! Aren’t you a daddy’s princess too? Tell us what you would like men to keep in mind before falling in love with you!

How to have a fully equipped handbag!

There are these times when someone needs something so desperately, something they forgot at home in a hurry, something they’ll borrow in that moment but forget to carry it all time! To avoid those moments at ‘Jugni & Co’ we researched on the top 10 must haves in a hand bag.

Besides the basic wallet, hairbrush, keys, cellphone here is a list of the Top 10 essentials in your handbag.

Hand Sanitizer & Moisturizer : Its never a bad time to kill those germs on your hands accumulated from shaking hands, exchanging money, opening doors and other routine things. It’s a quick alternative to hand washing with soap, similarly it can also leave your hands dry which is why you should carry a moisturizing lotion as well. A moisturiser also ensures whatever they weather maybe your hands and face are always supple and soft.

Pen: Besides the whole cool angle of always carrying a signature pen like big shot businessmen (Mont blanc, Parker, Cross etc) Its always a good idea to have a writing instrument handy, to jot down an impromptu shopping list, a secret note for someone or something you heard and don’t wanna forget!

Safety Pins & Band aid: A wardrobe malfunction will not come with a pre announcement, safety pins are a rescue mission to save you from any kind of embarrassment, it can also repair a bracelet or help you increase the length of your neckpiece! With pointy pokey things surrounding us, it wouldn’t hurt to carry a bandaid. It can make you a fairy for a kid with bruised knees who you can save some day! (just saying)

Body Splash/Deo/Mini perfume: The weather in our country is pretty unpredictable, it kills to not smell good at any time of the day… A deodorant/body splash/mini perfume can make you that girl who always smells so good at work, in college or just about any where.

Mouth Freshner: Mint, Chewing gum, mouth freshening spray is an amazing investment. When your palate just feels dry or to kill one of those sweet cravings pop in a mouth freshner. Also when you plan to get close to someone, a fresh breath can be a kickstart!

Accesories: This might sound weird but i always have a nice pair of earrings and a big cocktail ring in my bag. Classy hoops or coloured studs can keep you prepared for an unplanned outing where you can look dressy with these simple add ons!

Earphones: Sometimes all we need to shut out our million inner voices is some good music, it is stress relieving and mood lifting! Carry earphones at all times to tune into your favourite music and tune out the rest of the world. It also makes sense to speak on headphones while driving!

Sunglasses: Never leave the home without a sexy pair of shades. The moment you put on your glares, the brain understands “Babe mode Activated” and gives you a crazy boost also adds a glam factor to your look apart from saving your eyes from the sun!

Makeup Kit: Your quick fix and your best friend is your carry along make up kit. (what goes in a perfect makeup kit we’ll tell you soon)

MIRROR: The last but most important thing in your handbag is a magnifying mirror, they come in cute prints at accessorize and other such stores. You can make sure your hair and makeup is perfect and also do a quick check on your teeth! As they all say, a mirror never lies. There is never a wrong time for some self admiration too i say!

Whether its a tote, a clutch, a sling bag or any other swear not to leave home without at least 6 of the above!
