#TrendSpotting Wedding Jewellery inspiration for the Winter Bride.

While hunting for an ideal spot to shoot the following look, my search finally ended at Zora, A Modern Indian Kitchen opened recently at Ishanya Mall, Pune. The interiors and the overall ambience is so classy I was thrilled to conduct a few shoots there for the blog. The digital gramophone, the vertical garden walls, the high bar, and the beautiful lights made my team’s stress levels go down as everything was already there!

Bridal Jewellery trends do stick to making statements while being classy and re-usable. Rathod Jewellers gave us the ultimate upgrade in the jewellery scene for the Winter Bride.

This beautiful layered set is a mesmerising combination of Polki, Gold, Pearls and Rubies. Paired with a maangtika and a contemporary diamond bracelet to go with it, I felt like a bride already.

These amazing pieces on me made me look like a dream amalgamation of Jodhabai & Mastani. Don’t you agree? If you are researching for your upcoming wedding, keep your eyes open to such Polki-Pearl-Rose Cut Diamond combinations, as it is rare and oh-so-beautiful. If you are a raging bridesmaid and has a few weddings to attend this season, investing in a pair of stunning danglers or maangtikka like this will have you sorted!

I also got my hands on this elegant outfit from Sonal Thakore, it’s pure white raw silk kurta with a very khadi-ish jacket, as much as I loved the jewellery and the whole done up look, let me tell you that the outfit in itself is an absolute stunner. I can’t wait to wear it out! While choosing outfits for weddings and gatherings we do tend to get lost in the array of happy hues, investing in a white wonder will be a good shift for all of us! Try it.

Love & Life Style

Ode-To-Saheli. This Friendships Day, it’s all about twinning with your BFF.

You know how we girls get about having the same top, or the same dress as anyone else. Literally, if a girl will walk past me on the road wearing the same dress as I own, I am instantly adding a mental note to go and burn the dress from my wardrobe and never wear it again. Wait, please tell me I am not the only one who does this.

I’m just going to assume that we all do get a little panic-y when we see others picking up similar stuff from racks to the trial rooms. I have even seen people dropping the outfits at the billing line cause someone else picked it. In frenemies too,oh-it-is the ultimate revenge to buy something just like hers and wear it before her. But, the whole scene is a 180 degree shift when it comes to my bestie.

My BFF is like a sister from another mister, so when I go shopping, I un-hesitantly pick two of a kind. And yes, sometimes we try and wear it separately but most days we wear it on the same day same time and totally slay with our twinning! We take on the risk of looking like band-walahs, but the attention and the cute ass pictures at the end of each twinning day are totally worth it. Have a look at my Ode-To-Saheli

#MaaKaWardrobe Revisiting the classic saree!

From school and college farewells to debutante-like nights with the relatives or formal work events. If there is one thing that saves the day it has to be you mother’s saree. A dozen ways to drape it, so many types and forms, she has gone the whole 9 yards to fill her wardrobe with amazing pieces that you would kill to own.

Even if you are not the saree type, admit it that you have always admired mom in her gorgeous timeless sarees and how each of her old outfits have their own history. With the saree I have worn below, I felt like I was living mumma’s newlywed phase. More than 25 years old this is one of the first ever Satyapaul sarees of the family.

The modern newspaper print and the light flowy styling made it way ahead of its time and the perfect gift from Dad to Mom. #Pyaar It’s amazing how well it has been wrapped and covered and maintained till date. Bonus: It made me look like a spitting image of Mom. Check it out.

There is a lot of hype around the humble saree, it has an honest potential to get you ready and best looking for all kinds of events. With Sonam Kapoor’s wacky drapes, you could even wear it to brunch! Don’t hesitate trust in your #maakawardrobe and give one a chance.

P.S: No matter what you do, do not tear/burn/spill over your Mom’s saree.

Summer Weddings: Here’s your something blue.

Something old, Something new, something borrowed and something blue!

Even though this was said as the good luck essentials a bride must carry on her D-day, what’s stopping from carrying the luck around on every single day. Umm, not meaning to offend any tradition here, but it’s so cute and the quote plays on my head randomly. Hence the following.

IMG_0430

If you haven’t done straight cut long kurtas yet, you are running over a few years late on the trend. Got this simple fabric from a local market and made an interesting neckline which was enough to dress it up.

IMG_0436 IMG_0445

While kurtas like these will look great with pallazzos, the good old leggings didn’t disappoint me here either.

IMG_0447

Paired with multi coloured kolhapuris from Abba, my look was completed with a traditional jhumka that I picked from a recent trip to Delhi.

IMG_0450

An outfit like this fits well on smaller wedding functions like roka, engagements or just about anywhere you think you can pull this off. A little late into the season I still think investing in a pretty shade of blue with a long kurtacan be work anytime of the year.

Jugni's Take

Six classic fragrances that make you smell fantasy-like! #JugnisTake

Whether it’s a date night or an all-day meeting. A day out for errands or an evening indoors. The power of a fragrance and what it could transport us into is limitless. That’s how we all must have a signature fragrance.

And , if you’re still hunting for one that describes your every mood, listed below are my top six favourite perfumes! (In no particular order)

IMG_1119

 Victoria Secrets Bombshell
IMG_1145

No one does fragrances like Victoria Secrets, though this one is not a long last-er it sure gives me a fresh and sexy feeling every time I spray it on.

Jugni Tip: Wear it to quick coffee outings. Buy it here

Issey Miyake Leau Dissey

IMG_1146

If it wasn’t for this one I wouldn’t be called the ‘That girl who smelled so good!’; not kidding I overheard being described like that after an event once, and secretly thanked the maker of this perfume. It stays on and does not disappoint; musky, woody, yet feminine!

Jugni Tip: Wear to a night out partying/ club hopping and be surprised how it just won’t get off! Buy it here.

Davidoff Cool Water

IMG_1147

One of the first perfumes I ever wore, also cause it’s an easy staple gift no? cool, aqua, fresh as ever, Davidoff is seen practically in every girl’s collection!

Jugni Tip: Wear it at a day of errands, it stays on even through the sun and running around! Buy it here

Gucci Guilty Black

IMG_1148

One of my new finds is this oh-so-sexy heady fragrance by Gucci. Even the gold one in the same name is quite nice, but the black bottle oozes sexy!

Jugni Tip: Wear it to a long, intimate, date with your man and you might actually catch him taking in a deep breath while cuddling! Buy it here.

Chanel No. 5

IMG_1149

It’s the ultimate iconic fragrance that translates the ultimate idea of femininity. This list would have been a joke without the most celebrated perfume ever! It’s something incredible. You may like it or you may not because it was made almost 100 years ago and it’s particular—but you try it because you have to.

Jugni Tip: It’s honestly not very my type, but it stays on for over 12 hours and I love the whole history it comes with.  Buy it here.

Elizabeth Arden Provocative

IMG_1151

So, here is the thing about the Provocative; Everyone who knew me well enough gifted me a bottle. It’s my ultimate favourite and I can smell it on my clothes even after they come back from the dry-cleaners. The fact that people don’t take Elizabeth Arden very seriously makes them head turn and ask me what perfume am I wearing each time I step out with this one. It’s truly my signature fragrance, and I’m yet to find one like it.

Jugni Tip: Wear it everywhere, at work, at the mall, on a date, in a meeting- absolutely, and definitely wear some just after a shower every day! It will grow on you and make you want it all day every day. Buy it here.

Psst: Secret is, if you buy the same perfumed body lotions and carry their miniature versions in your little purse, you will smell like an absolute dream ALL-THE-TIME <3

Have I covered your favourite fragrance? Would you want me to try one? Tell me in comments below.

P.S: This is not a sponsored post, and these are purely personal opinions.

Drop that shoulder! KoovsXJugni

Continuing on the ongoing cold shoulder craze, here is a simple look you have to try the next time you are stepping out!

Jugni tip: not a good idea to go dancing in an off shoulder top, as the elastic slides up each time your arms move to do your moves! *NotGoodBro*

Besides that tiny winy little glitch, here is our first ever tie up with Koovs! *yayy* Also, I seriously believe only super stylish people wear Koovs, I find their stuff super cool you must check it out if you haven’t already! This summer also is about investing in white denims! The summery-spring-y-floral tops and hyper colours are best when paired with a classic white pair!

I got my hands on the most epic fit from Zara. Although, I do think that lighter coloured bottoms do make my thighs appear broader, the length of the tops you wear the changes the game completely. So choose smart. My sling bag holds just the essentials and went effortlessly with the look, also the reflectors from Anjuna, Goa added swag!

IMG_0470 IMG_0472

An absolute must try are the jump in shoes, which are comfy enough to keep you running in all day at the mall or amidst your errands. I love the little bling which I teamed with my cute-sy two finger ring.

Did you see? Do you like? Won’t you try?

Love my triple studs from H&M, they go with absolutely anything and everything, and just validate having 3 ear piercings no?

I’m cooling it down with my cold shoulders and reflectors! How are you styling this summer away? Tell us at talk@jugniandco.com. Also, if you have a post idea, a request, a query, leave a comment, love us hate us? Tell us everything! Till then, Stay Jugni <3

Cold Shoulders and Ripped Jeans! #TrendAlert

Who knew giving a cold shoulder would be cool!

Cold shoulder tops are the rage right now. And they are so perfect for the summer. What I love about them is the perfect balance of skin show and hide! These consist of peek-a-boo sleeves, off shoulders, one shoulder tops or in-cut sleeves, punch hole sleeves and many more. Basically all those that flaunt your sexy shoulders!

Try them in basic colours with interesting denims like the one below, or even pair this with a fitted skirt for a casual chic vibe. These looks also show my love for basic solid colours and how black and white are the answers to any style problem. You are never over or under dressed when you put on the classics.

Don’t you agree? Have a look and let me know how you liked this easy look.

The top 3 Desi Looks you need to add to your wardrobe, If you haven’t already.

You can do denims, skirts and dresses but nothing slays like an authentic Indian/ traditional look. Whether you’re the only one going design in college or adapting these into a routine family gathering, these are the 3 must have looks you need to try asap!

Kurta- Pallazzos

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I am obsessed with palazzo pants, they make me look taller and give me a feeling of being the most elegantly dressed when in a crowd! The trend started early 2015 and looks like it’s here to stay. Mix and match with interesting prints and colours to create different looks. They are so comfortable and effortlessly stylishly you might consider ditching all other forms of bottoms completely!

Patiala Salwar:

Nothing says casual desi like patiala suits, they define easy, functional style to me. Especially after Tanu weds Manu, I see myself turning to a patiala suit more often than not these days.

Jugni Tip: You need to find the right tailor to give you a real patiala salwar, it’s not as easy as it looks to have those perfect pleats in a hot fit, you might have to struggle with a few trials. But I suggest don’t settle till you feel full punjabi kuddie. Also, preferably get one from the north! I got this beautiful fabric from Ahmedabad for as less as INR 90 per metre and the short fitted kurta made me feel like Alia Bhatt from Humpty Sharma! If you don’t have this set in your wardrobe you are certainly missing out on a classic.

Kurti- Leggings

This is a cheat salwar kameez, or a chudidar kurta’s modernised version. It’s available everywhere you go and is so easy to carry. All the big brands have made multiple styles of kurtas ready to buy for us. From the A-lines, to the straight fits, the asymmetrical to a simple slit one like this they can all add interesting elements in your wardrobe. The gungroo on this kurta made me buy it without a second thought, also, the chudidar sleeves are so pretty nai?

Jugni Tip: Since leggings are skin tight, the length of the kurta should be below knee length or it can look weird, also colours like beige or skin tone for a legging will make it look like you aren’t wearing any, so be careful!

The not so routine- everyday look you must try! #WrapThat

I’m pretty confident that all you girlies have a printed wrap around skirt in that wardrobe. Either you received it as a gift, or bought it at a fair or just ordered one cause you felt that you could rock this look.

Well, if you have been struggling what to team it with just like I was, I decided to go dead-basic. T-shits just about fit into any look, you can layer the look with a long cape, you could even wear the skirt with a nice plain kurta. The options are endless, here is one such option that you can easily carry to your next work day or college too.

Wrap around skirts tend to suit most body types, they are easy to wear and really comfortable if you have to run errands all day. Adding desi accessories and kolhapuri chappals added an interesting blend to the look for the day. Go ahead and #WrapThat

Als, i wore the same skirt with a plain white tee while on a vacation with family, find a bonus picture with my Mumma ji below.

Tell me how you like such basic looks, should we do more?
