One Kurta Three Ways. Hacks for a serial outfit repeater. #StyleGameStrong

I have always sorta-kinda-been in denial about being a fashion blogger. In my head, these superstar girls I follow are true fashion bloggers, not me. Like I toh barely even get there. Until ta-da this post! So easy, you absolutely have to try it!

Merging the trends of maxi tops and fusion kurtas, my designer created this beautiful classic white kurta for me. The see through georgette and the sexy sleeves makes the bottom pop, with almost any kind of pairing. Be it palazzos, Patiala salwar, slim fit pants or even a skirt or lehenga. Wear it with a printed salwar to the next Ganpati pooja you attend, or pair it with your hot fit denims and sky high heels to impress you girls on your next brunch outing. Have a look at the images below and you’ll be surprised at how a simple investment can go a long long repeatable way.

Let me know if you are a serial outfit repeater too, so we can share ideas of doing it without getting caught. The pressure is immense to not look the same on snap chat twice, and you get the drift. Hence, this blogger feels post comes your way urging you to invest in staple garments that can be played around with, without too much stress and guarantee you some self love and extra likes on your next upload too.

Cape it out! #TrendSpotting in my super late travel post! #JugniChaliPondicherry

While we struggled to complete all the places on our to-do list, you know these bloggers they always squeeze in time for a quick shoot! Have a look at a fun recreated version of Alia Bhatt’s Buddhu sa Mann look. Hope you like it as much as I did sporting it.

I was also supremely skeptical about sporting these shorts, never before length this is. But I did realise I was my biggest critic and no one out there gave me a look, it was all in my mind. The cape does help cover up problem areas in an attire like this and adds much-needed confidence boost with the obvious splash of colour.

Must try!IMG_8297

All White, So bright. #SummerWeddings #MaaKaWardrobe

Still looking to add to your wedding wear collection? You absolutely must invest in an all white piece.

Be it an Anarkali, a pretty gown, a straight kurta or a lehenga. The possibilities to style an all white outfit are unimaginable. Here you will see my first time experimenting with an asymmetric Anarkali. The wow-factor remains the fact that it is all white and I can style it completely differently just by alternating add-ons.

Dupattas, earrings, makeup, footwear and other accessories are the real style quotient sometimes, hence details are everything. Pay close attention 😛

LMPL4855A bright stole/ dupatta like this one ended up being the game changer of my whole look. To balance that pop of colour I put on my gorgeous pink earrings by Tarksya, and added my multi-colour kolhapuri from Abba Shoes.

Best part about creating the kurta was the fact that I had an old semi georgette saree lying around in the house until my designer from Ginni’s couture creations came up with this. We stuck to classic detailing with pearls and a hint of gold to go with the old saree border. Always believe in the power of #MaaKaWardrobe

I feel so incomplete without my Mumma’s bindi, each time I wear Indian.

Adding an entire layer of georgette over the old saree made the outfit more elegant and royal! Keeping royal in mind, I had to try on a look which stuck to ultimate classics and no bright added tones.

Major Sonam Kapoor vibes were being felt with the styling of this look, also made me quite proud of myself.

If you are one of those who think white will enlarge your body shape or anything on the lines, kindly drop that silly idea and try this. Also, i really think i can dye this into a completely different shade someday and flaunt it all over again!

Notice how the draping of the dupatta can also impact your look so greatly.

Don’t doubt yourself when putting on some extra blush. Afternoon events will only enhance the face further with just enough dosage of Pink! <3

Wouldn’t you share this post with someone looking for wedding wear ideas? or just cause you love Jugni & Co so much?

Pondicherry wich gal mithi mithi bol! A breakdown on South India’s traditional saree!

This is not a sponsored post, this is not a drill. This is a little informative and more entertaining than ever. Read on!

Jugni & Co founders recently took our first trip alone to Pondicherry! Yay! Bucket list is finally shorter! *phew* the pressure social media creates is immense nai? While we strutted around in the mini french colony that India boasts of it struck us to do a full post on the classic south Indian saree. And no, kanjeevaram is not the only types of saree they have. So many varieties, so many stories behind them, here is a breakdown on my favourite one!

The garment we are referring to is traditionally called the Mundum Neriyathum (or its modernized version –Kasavu Saari). The origin of Mundum Neriyathum can be traced back to third century BC when Shramana tradition was spread all over Kerala. Shramanas followed a simple lifestyle. They used to wear hand woven cotton cloths which is yellowish off-white in colour. The gold borders were added on later, when we spoke to locals we figured how this beauty has been worn to temples, weddings, special occasions and even in routine.

Have you ever noticed the traditional attires all across India, You can see that locals tends to wear fabrics with colour contrasting to the landscape of that region. For example, the colourful Rajasthani/ Kutchhi styles match the desert landscape of Rajasthan; or radiant traditional dress of Kashmiri women contrasting with the whitish landscape of Kashmir. Likewise, the off-white coloured Mundum Neriyathum contrast well with vivid landscape of Southern India!

Ok, I know we were not exactly in Kerela, but then again how often do we take a trip to the south and when would we get to do such a fun shoot? Then sprang in visuals of Sonam Kapoor dancing to Gal Mithi Mithi Bol, and the wedding scene from 2 States; and all i wanted was to try this look! Surprisingly, we got this ready saree for only INR435 and the readymade blouse for another INR 200. Holii stepped in to provide us with beautiful bags to complete this look.

Had to do a little bit of bhangra.

Unfortunately, you can’t see the traditional mogra hair do on the back of my head, but it looked stunning and if I had a smaller face i would prefer tying up my hair in a bun instead of the braid.

Disclaimer: I don’t know much about the fabrics, sarees and authentic details about this trend. Points mentioned here are purely out of our little research 🙂

But, tell me; have you tried a traditional attire somewhere you travelled? Like the pahadi dressing up north, or the tea gardens inspired dressing, or anything that made you feel like doing a little happy dance? Also, wouldn’t you try on a saree like this one on your next occasion. I think it’s ideal for summer weddings too!

Cold Shoulders and Ripped Jeans! #TrendAlert

Who knew giving a cold shoulder would be cool!

Cold shoulder tops are the rage right now. And they are so perfect for the summer. What I love about them is the perfect balance of skin show and hide! These consist of peek-a-boo sleeves, off shoulders, one shoulder tops or in-cut sleeves, punch hole sleeves and many more. Basically all those that flaunt your sexy shoulders!

Try them in basic colours with interesting denims like the one below, or even pair this with a fitted skirt for a casual chic vibe. These looks also show my love for basic solid colours and how black and white are the answers to any style problem. You are never over or under dressed when you put on the classics.

Don’t you agree? Have a look and let me know how you liked this easy look.

How to be Desk Diva: Workstations so pretty that even instagram will beg for these!

Call me random if you may, random is fun don’t you agree? Predictable is boring. Wait. i don’t want to keep on blabbering thoughts straight out from my head. But isn’t this blog about that? Ok. Stop. Focus.

Hello, again! I’ve got some mid week motivation for you. So this is what happens, when i zone off to my wishful thinking and daydreaming. I pinterest for hours and hours and dream about the perfect spaces and places. Some that we can create ourselves, and some in the world that are too pretty and they keep getting added on to my ‘must visit’ list. BTW, if you do not have a ‘must visit’ list yet, you need some serious dose of pinterest in your life. Getting back to our midweek motivation, I have always been the kind of person that needs ambience to do anything right. Like when I was choosing which Zumba class to join, i picked the one with club lights on the ceiling and music so loud that it makes you feel like a party! Also, when I sat down to study in school days, i needed loads of books and cute stationery and preferably a couple of friends or siblings studying around me to really feel like doing my homework for the day.

Keeping all that ambience-requirement in mind, you’ll wonder what sort of a desk you must have to do some creative writing, and posting, and most importantly- instagramming. I mean no desk is good enough, if you can’t instagram it. Posting below are my favourite desks and workstations from pinterest and google, around the world that have given me serious #deskgoals.

Absolute Must Haves to be an ultimate Desk Diva:

  1. Pictures: Obvio, you need happy vacationing pictures of you, family, friends and your bae, to constantly remind of why you need to work hard so you can take a nice long break soon!
  2. Pin board: To put up tickets, bills, cute notes, reminders, and everything else
  3. Theme: I personally really like the tiffany themed desk, you should have a theme and work around it.
  4. More White: You see how pretty the pictures look, the more white they have? imagine how awesome it will be in reality?
  5. Minimal: Less is more, keep the furniture chic and inspired by a fashion magazine office!
  6. Great Drapes: No office space is complete without pretty curtains, choose the right colours, prints and patterns to make your space.
  7. Ultra Cute Stationery: Raid those chinese cute ass stores, hoard on hello kitty and mc donalds toys, add some quirky notebooks with insanely pretty sometimes unusable items on the desk. Anything to keep us inspired to work na?
  8. Fresh Flowers: to add that daily fresh happy quotient.
  9. Fairy Lights: Nothing is cute without fairy lights. enough said.
  10. Planner/Organiser/ Calendar: After all it is a work space, busy bees like us need to mark our dates right 😛

A wire manager this cute, will lead me to respecting my chargers much more than i currently do

Told you, instagrammable pictures are everything.

Desks that overlook a window or a nice landscape keep your mind calm and you more dreamy. If this does not inspire you to be a desk diva, i don’t know what will. Are you thinking of your desk make over already? Tell me tell me. Jugni awaits 🙂

The outfit that is Un-Fail-able. #triedandtested

Sometimes I feel like we should talk about things that are life changing. And you know really important things, like world peace. World peace makes me think of the speeches in Miss.Congeniality. And that makes me think of the pretty dresses they wore. And then basically i’m back to talking about this. Dressing up is important OK, if you won’t always be dressed well how will Karan Johar spot you and launch you. If you don’t always be dressed well, how will your Mr. Right bump into you and fall in love-at-first-sight, and how will you do the Kangana Ranaut-queen-walk of independence in like not a properly styled look!

You get the drift? It’s important. Sometimes it is life changing. Pay attention. 😛

So what happens on the days when you’re like i’m too cool to put an effort into dressing up. Then the below shown look is what you need to adapt too. *phew* what a build up to something so easy!

OK, back to point. The one look which is completely un-fail-able is the white t-shirt with blue jeans look. There is no way you have not tried this before, but i’m sure you did not think of it’s swag level when you did it.

It’s the one look which is accepted as even high couture if done right. Do it up with accessories, do it down with chappals. On a bad hair day or not, with heels or flats, with make-up or no makeup, tucked in or out, belt or no belt, there is no reason for you not to do this. I insist that you wear some swag sunglasses with it though.

Wear a white shirt and blue jeans to office, wear a collared t-shirt and jeans to college, wear a chikan white short kurti with some bangles to a small family function, or simply throw on a t-back with your fav pair of denims and go rock-chic-in-a-hard-rock-world!!

On days when you want to put the least thought into what you will be wearing, or on days when you cannot afford to go wrong do it with blind faith!

The white top and blue jeans look is your saviour.

All the Maxi-mising you’ll need this summer – Part Trois.

If you haven’t caught on to the maxi dress trend you are running pretty late in the trend game my friend! With random bouts of rainfall and hailstones, summers will be gone before you know it, and you don’t want to miss these gorgeous sunny days where you can flaunt your flowy dresses do you?

In the last of our Maxi-Mising series we are talking about a formal dress, easily available in many leading brands this is an elegant choice for a date night or even a clubbing scene with your group. The snow white is a breather in this weather and it helps you even stay cool as white is known to not attract heat unlike black or darker shades. You must check out the other maxi dresses we styled here and here. Also i think sheer dresses are so sexy without being vulgar, don’t you think?
